Lead Generation Software Strategies

The strategy to put together a good online lead generation system is to not spend all day looking for one piece of software that does it all.

That is like looking for one software tool that does all your Internet Marketing.  Good luck with that.

Although there are big packages that will help you tie together many Internet Marketing efforts, I have never seen something that truly does 100% of what a typical effort would need.

The best thing to do is to design a flow chart of what the lead generation strategy looks like for you.  Then buy or get lead generation software that can do the key parts of it for you.

My primary focus is Inbound Marketing as a lead generation strategy.

Inbound Marketing is when you develop online information that attract targeted audiences to you instead of you soliciting them.  Sounds perfect, right?  The disadvantage is that it takes time and effort to get it going.  No magical push button automation here - it is building long term value and strong ROI.

Over time this approach can really get great results and I have seen it in many industries.

So if you are looking for lead generation software, start by mapping out your lead generation strategy and identifying those pieces you need.  Here are some things you may need depending on your approach.

1. Lead Capture Software - This will be part of your CRM or Email Autoresponder

2. Blog Writing Software - which can help you write and link faster and easier and get better SEO results (this is the primary purpose of our software)

3. Keyword Research Tool - To help you identify target keywords and target markets.

4. Website Analytics - You can get free software to track analytics such as visitors and you can buy SERP tracking, where you rank for keywords in the seach engines, as well.  Our software includes SERP for you as it is what drives your results.

5. CMS - A system for managing your website.  I prefer the open source free software Wordpress.

All of this is what you use in Inbound Marketing.  The good thing is this is a very low cost lead generation strategy that gets stronger the longer you do it and much of the lead generation software is free.  Sure it will take a bit of time, but do it in your off hours and reap the rewards in the future.

Is Your Call to Action Holding You Back?

I do not think that I am very popular when I tell someone that Internet Marketing never ends.  It does not end with site set up.  It does not end with blogging.  It does not end with link building.  It does not end with social media.

It only ends when you stop trying and say that is enough - and you will always still be leaving opportunity on the table.

There are simply too many options and as you master one, there is something else to do if you want to.

A call to action is your attempt to generate leads from your website.  Your call to action may be a free report, request form for a demo or it may be a call to buy something on the web.

You have to make it clear what you want people to do.

Even when people do get all the other pieces in place and start generating good traffic, I often see that they are happy with their call to action and they do not keep testing different ones.

It is hard because to test it you either need to put a split test in place with custom software or you need to test one for a few weeks, track the data, and then test another one for a few weeks.

If you want to throw some money at it and figure out which is the best call to action faster, then use adwords to drive more traffic and test the thing quicker.  Online lead generation works, but you have to test your call to action to find what people react to best.

Virtual Assistant Income

A virtual assistant should diversify their income just like any other consultant, Internet Entrepreneur or contractor. If you are getting more than 25% of your income from a single client or source, you are in danger.

One long term strategy is to build passive and semi-passive income streams. These help you have stable additional virtual assistant income and they also can give you a practice product to hone your Internet Marketing skills.

See this review of iLearningGlobal.

As you can see from that iLearningGlobal review, it is quit possible to get additional business training, get additional virtual assistant income and improve your Internet Marketing skills all at the same time.

Open Source Software Marketing

If you know me you know that I love two things:

Technology and Marketing

I just wrote a post over on the virtual buzz assistant blog about how virtual assistants can market open source software.

Of course, Virtual Marketing Assistants can help nearly anyone market their product or service better, but I really wanted to dive into how to help a specific situation more.

Virtual Assistant Blog

KDE Wallet Manager I just did a post on the Virtual Assistant Blog and invited other people that have a virtual assistant blog to post a link to their blog in the comments as well.

My hope is that it becomes a great resource where you can find a comprehensive list of great virtual assistant blogs.

Our Virtual Assistant Blog has grown very fast even though it is only 4 months old and in a crowded marketplace. I think we got really lucky by focusing on virtual assistants that are 100% internet marketing focused.

Even if you are not interested in virtual assistants, take a look at that blog. We have a PR 4 already and FAST growing blog traffic. You can do this for nearly any industry.

What is your internet marketing formula?

Just Drive

Read about the internet marketing formula on the Buzzoodle Buzz Marketing blog.

This article compares the normal business profitability formula to the internet marketing profitability formula.

If you are wondering how little changes in your internet marketing can change your profits, take a look at this article. If your idea of internet marketing is having a 10 page website, it is probably not for you.

Virtual Marketing Assistant

A Virtual Marketing Assistant is the best option for many small businesses. It is a perfect solution that is not as expensive as hiring a marketing agency, but not as difficult as doing all the internet marketing activities themselves.

The #1 reason that a Virtual Marketing Assistant fails is that small business owners just want them to do too many things - and have unrealistic expectations on the outcome.

A Virtual Marketing Assistant can help you execute your marketing plan. But your marketing plan better be better than - just go out and create buzz for me. If you do not have a clue of where you want to start, you need to hire an Internet & Buzz Marketing Agency to help you craft your strategy. Then you can hire Virtual Marketing Assistants to help you keep your strategy going month after month.

And I am not here to tell you that you have to have someone else do it. Anyone can do Internet Marketing themselves, but it takes a lot of time and willingness to continually learn, test and create great information.
